Five hundred years after his election to the Holy See, The Museo delle Cappelle Medicee celebrates the figure of Pope Leo X, the first Medici pope. The exhibition tracks the life of Giovanni, Lorenzo the Magnificent\'s second son, from his birth in Florence in 1475 up to 11 March 1513 when he became Pope, to his short return home in 1515, and up to his death in Rome in 1521. The exhibition also explores his artistic projects and his legacy both to his birthplace and to the places associated with his family, at a time of amazing cultural achievement in Florence and Rome.
Opening hours: Monday - Sunday 8.15 am – 4.50 pm.
Closed on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month, 1st, 3rd and 5th Monday of the month.
Ticket price: Full price € 9.00 (entrance to the Museum included); Concessions € 4.50 for UE citizens aged 18 to 25 ; Admission free for UE citizens under 18 and over 65.
