Marta Gierut (1977 - 2005) was born in Pietrasanta and was a student of the painter and sculptor Franco Miozzo (1909-1996). First attended the Pietrasanta State Institute of Art Stagio Stagi, and then the Fine Arts Academy of Carrara. Her works are included in some public Italian institutions such as the Pietrasanta Museum of Sketches (www.museodeibozzetti.it), in the S. Anna di Stazzema Museum and in the Pescia Paper Museum. Her monument called The face and the mask has been positioned in Marina di Pietrasanta (Lucca) in the Park of Sculpture, among works of Franco Adami, Fernando Botero, Pietro Cascella, Novello Finotti, Jean Michel Folon, Franco Miozzo, Igor Mitoraj, Kan Yasuda.
