The player is a project of the Marino Marini Museum. Each year a selection of works from a private Italian collection little known by the general public will be presented. Each exhibition will last four months and will be set up in a part of the museum, specifically restored for this purpose.

The first collection will be the one belonging to Sandra and Giancarlo Bonollo and includes works by Pavel Althamer, Darren Almond, Stefano Arienti, Tacita Dean, Jeremy Deller, Rineke Dijkstra, Keith Edmier & Farrah Fawcett, Olafur Eliasson, Urs Fischer, Joseph Gabellone, Mona Hatoum, Sarah Lucas, Marepe, Gabriel Orozco, Damián Ortega, Simon Starling and Piotr Uklanski.
