Painting - Contemporary Techniques Course
“Contemporary Art” is a term referring to art created in the present, but generally includes all art movements from the beginning of the twentieth century to the present day. Attending a Painting with Contemporary Techniques in Italy, especially in Florence, is important for those interested in art because Florence is not only the city of the Renaissance and great masters such as Giotto and Michelangelo, but it is also a dynamic center for contemporary art. Important Italian and foreign institutions promote and experiment with new languages and avant-garde. Many Italian and foreign artists have their studios and laboratories here and many young people from all over the world come here to learn the most modern painting techniques. The school proposes a two-part course:
a) a theoretical part on contemporary art history, from the avant-garde of the 900’s to the contemporary tendencies, new materials, support technology, colors and the study of visual perception
b) a practical part that familiarizes students with support materials, canvas, wood, metals, plastics, traditional and industrial colors, use of special instruments, and mixed techniques (sponging, stamping)
The objective of the course is to introduce the use of new languages, but also to help students to develop a personal style. The course is recommended to those who have some experience in drawing and painting.
Courses start every Monday, and lessons are held in the afternoon: Monday to Friday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
This course is available in three types:
-Basic course (6 hours per week)
-Semi-intensive (10 hours per week)
-Intensive (20 hours per week)
The minimum enrollment is 2 weeks for the Basic and Semi-intensive type, and 1 week for the Intensive type.
All our teachers speak Italian, English and Spanish.
