Egg tempera and Gold leaf

The egg tempera was the technique used in the Middle Ages and Renaissance to paint on wooden boards. The lesson includes the creation of a sketch, the realization of the "spolvero", the technique for mixing colors and the realization of the first layer of paint on a wooden board.
Afterwards, students will learn the gilding technique, typically Florentine and of common use in the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, applying the gold leaf to certain areas of the painiting.
