Fashion Design Course
Why attend a course in fashion design in Florence? Because important designers such as Gucci, Coveri, Cavalli, Ferragamo, Patrizia Pepe, Emilio Pucci and many others have worked and are working in Florence, because the city is home to many museums dedicated to fashion: the museum Ferragamo, Gucci museum, the museum Capucci, the museum of costume, the museum of textile fabric and others. Finally, many shops and workshops operate in this sector.
The Fashion Design Course of the Leonardo da Vinci Academy of Florence is a basic course for whoever wishes to tackle fashion design in a practical way. It begins with learning how to design the human body, with a study of the human anatomy and the various positions of the human body, in order to introduce the constructive techniques of the figure that the sketches and fashion illustrations will be designed on. The course then analyzes models, accessories, decoration techniques, visual fashion communication, and fundamental concepts of fashion marketing. Lastly, it discusses the theory and symbolism of color (scale, contrast, harmony) and the use of professional felt-tip markers, colored pencils, watercolors, chalks. Additionally, the course talks about fabrics, and explains and experiments with the application of techniques that are representative of different types of fabric. The students will then attempt to create their own collections by choosing and developing a theme.
Courses start every Monday, and lessons are held in the afternoon: Monday to Friday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
This course is available in three types:
-Basic course (6 hours per week)
-Semi-intensive (10 hours per week)
-Intensive (20 hours per week)
The minimum enrollment is 2 weeks for the Basic and Semi-intensive type, and 1 week for the Intensive type.
All our teachers speak Italian, English and Spanish.
