One day Art Workshop Experience
Florence is the city of arts, the Renaissance city. If you stay a few days in Florence, you'll surely plan to visit the Florentine museums and admire the masterpieces of Donatello, Botticelli, Michelangelo and many others. Why not spend a morning at an art workshop, where you can observe and experience the use of the most important and fascinating techniques used by the great masters? The Leonardo da Vinci Art School, together with the group courses, also offers one morning individual art workshops on the following techniques:
- INDOORS DESIGN
The course takes place in our art centre, the participant may choose to study and reproduce a still life or an object or a work of his choice.
- OUTDOORS DESIGN
The course takes place outdoors and the participant, under the teacher's guidance, learn to draw one of the city monuments of his choice.
- EGG TEMPERA
The egg tempera was the technique used in the Middle Ages and Renaissance to paint on wooden boards. The lesson includes the creation of a sketch, the realization of the "spolvero", the technique for mixing colors and the realization of the first layer of paint on a wooden board.
- GOLD LEAF
Gilding with gold leaf, typically Florentine, was a very common technique in the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. The workshop consists of a theoretical demonstration and a practice to achieve a perfect gilding: application of bolus on a prepared table, lay out the bolus, application of gold, silver and / or copper leaf.
The wall fresco represents one of the oldest painting techniques of art history. During the workshop you will observe and try to realize a small fresco. The lesson includes: laying of the mortar on the substrate; creating a sketch and realization of “spolvero”; preparing the substrate; “rinzaffo” and “arriccio”, creating plaster; the transfer of drawing on the wall and painting on the surface.
A teacher will present the technique you choose, will introduce the use of materials and tools needed, and will accompany you in the practical realization of a work to take away, simple, but carried out with just the techniques used by the great masters of the Renaissance!
The workshop lasts three hours, in the morning from 9 to 12 or from 10 to 13. It may be booked for any day of the week, from Monday to Friday. The price, which also includes the materials, is 160 € per participant.
