FINE ARTS AND CULTURE ACADEMY

Preparatory Course for the Fine Arts Academy

The Florentine Academy of Fine Arts was founded in 1563. Its prestige is due to the extraordinary contribution of great artists such as Michelangelo Buonarroti, Francesco da Sangallo, Agnolo Bronzino, Benvenuto Cellini, Giorgio Vasari, Bartolomeo Ammannati, Giambologna, Titian and Tintoretto. The student who wants to enroll must first pass an examination consisting of several practical tests and an interview in Italian on History of Art and student’s artistic experiences. Our course is structured in the morning with 4 Italian language lessons and in the afternoon with 4 lessons of applied art, according to the address chosen by the student, for a total of 160 lessons. If you do not need the Italian lessons, you can enroll in and attend only the art classes in the afternoon. Here below you find the description of the tests for 2016, according to various addresses. The exams for the Academy of Fine Arts always take place in the month of September. The courses of Italian and Applied Art can be started at any time, agreeing with the school dates and times. Beginners, however, must follow the starting dates for Italian Language courses indicated in this page: Italian, dates and prices
