Considered the first Cubist sculptor, Jacques Lipchitz (1891 Druskininkai in Lithuania - 1973 Capri) works in Paris with Modigliani, Juan Gris, Picasso and Braque and is part of the Cubism, then moved to New York and then settled in Pieve di Camaiore in the 60s and worked in the historic Foundry Tommasi in Pietrasanta. 43 drawings and 21 chalk casts of Jacques Lipchitz have become part of the collection of the Museo di Palazzo Pretorio thanks to the gift of the lawyer They D.Mott, son of Mrs. Yulla, wife of the great Lithuanian sculptor.
